I've been transitioning The Taggart Institute from two commercial platforms—Teachable and Discord—simultaneously. This undertaking required adapting Discourse, our newly selected platform, to function similarly to a Learning Management System. Discourse operates as forum software, and it performs this function exceptionally well compared to anything I've previously utilized. Administration proves surprisingly enjoyable! Thanks to its adaptability and extensibility, Discourse meets most of our educational platform requirements—with some adjustments and lingering peculiarities. However, one feature proved persistently challenging to recreate: course completion credentials. Although our policy recognizes self-assessment, our learning community has clearly expressed desire for these documents. LinkedIn serves as our primary source of new participants, and LinkedIn users consistently demonstrate enthusiasm for showcasing their achievements.
